DupeGuru is a tool to find duplicate files on your computer. It can scan either filenames or contents. The filename scan features a fuzzy matching algorithm that can find duplicate filenames even when they are not exactly the same. DupeGuru is a file application that can search and display duplicate files on your hard drive. DupeGuru is the general application for these kind of jobs, issued by this producer. I also tested dupeGuru Music Edition, and dupeGuru Picture Edition which are very good applications for their particular cases. The particular applications are better.

From the performance point of view, dupeGuru is somewhere between the previously tested applications. It works very fast with medium sized directories, in the same way as dupeGuru Music Edition works, but it gets stuck if you add huge directories, in the same way as dupeGuru Picture Edition does.
The interface provides you quick access to the list of scan directories, some various functions, and a nice button which can start the whole scanning process. The 'Preferences' pane is also simple, and in provides just a few features which can customize the number of scan results.
With the report list you can do various actions such as moving, deleting or copying the duplicate files, or you can do tasks like opening the files with a selected application.
If you're looking for advanced features, then the application has them. For example the 'Actions' menu allows you to do a lot more than you can do from the interface and the contextual menus.
Pluses: it gives you the possibility to search and remove the duplicate files; it provides advanced statistics; it provides advanced file information; it has an easy to use interface while it provides some advanced functionality in the program's menus. Drawbacks / flaws: it gets stuck when trying to process large sized directories.
In conclusion: if you have a lot of files on your hard drive, and you would like to make some free space by deleting the duplicates, then this application is a real help.

If anyone is wondering why the source has changed, Dupeguru's website says the maintainer has changed. And so the link https://www.hardcoded.net/dupeguru/ leads us to https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/ which in turn has a link to https://github.com/arsenetar/dupeguru/ which is the GitHub repo the sources are downloaded from. So the source change is legitimate.

@JohnRobson can you please be more specific? It builds fine in a clean chroot, I don't see what you are missing. python-polib package just got updated, maybe you need to update it.

@Rus: I don't get different results comparing 4.0.4 and 4.1.0. Would you mind filing a bug report on the github issue tracker if you can provide more information? The matching algorithm has not changed so I don't see why you get 'worse' results.. apart from using exclusion filters (regex) perhaps.
4.1.0 is not released yet, but it is the same code as the current master branch. 4.0.4 won't work anymore due to the newer python version used in Arch Linux. Granted a patch could be written to make it work, I don't think it's worth the trouble at this point, as 4.1.0 is about to get a proper release anyway.
@madjoe these are dependencies of the python-sphinx package used for building the documentation. My take is that they are not really our dependencies, and since they are only used during the building stage, they will end up as orphans. This is normal behaviour, you can safely remove these packages. Using makepkg -sr to build packages should automatically remove makedepends once they are no longer needed.

Is it just me, or is the image search worse than it was in 4.0.4? It says everywhere that 4.0.4 is the latest release. Maybe we should bring back this version?

When I check the orphan packages, I can find the following packages:

Dupeguru Picture Edition
The upstream master branch is currently broken, and dupeguru-git risks being broken too. The upstream maintainer is taking too long to merge the patches that fix and update the master branch. Vudu full hd clueless (1995) movie download 1080p. Therefore I went ahead and temporarily changed the source to point to a source release candidate for the upcoming 4.1.0 version.
This is better than patching manually for incompatible python versions. Might as well include all the patches at once because the resulting build should be stable anyway.
This here package is now currently ahead of the 'dupeguru-git' package.
I'll revert back to the upstream repository once a proper release is done. Yify uncut gems [2019] full movie stream free.

@Tio: I changed the .desktop file to point to a logically discoverable icon instead of the hardcoded path. A symbolic link that points to the packaged icon is made in /usr/share/pixmaps. Let me know if that's not exactly what you wanted, I'll eventually push the changes upstream.
